With the significant financial support of Cerro Vanguardia, the Agency evaluates and approves various productive projects for SMEs and local entrepreneurs expanding their production capacity and modernizing their facilities to expand their commercial horizon and sustainably developing the region. The harsh climate of the region, which makes it unsuitable for outdoor agriculture, must be underscored. Some examples:
Don Basso Orchard: long-standing producer who has had their facilities quite damaged by the wind. At present, the operation is developing green-house produce adding hydroponics technology to improve produce quantity and quality.
Fish processing plant:artisan fishers needed facilities to process and cut their catch aiming at raising their profitability and expanding their market.
La Gullermina Farm: aexpansion and improvement of laying hen facilities, making it possible for San Julian to consume locally-produced eggs and with prospects of selling to neighbor localities in the short term.
The last project developed by the Agency and financed with contributions from CVSA was geared to the sustainable reactivation of the Port by acquiring a fishing-cooling drag boat and bringing it to San Julian to be manned with local fishers, to solve the problem of lack of raw material of local plants.
